Occupation: Clergyman

Lifestory: [Identity uncertain.] The Cheltenham Annuaire appears to be mistaken in recording the Revd. M. Moore as living at 12 Pittville Parade (now 24 Evesham Road), in Cheltenham between 1847 and 1848. In 1846 the newspapers note that the Revd. C. Moore removed from 20 Promenade Villas to 12 Pittville Road, and in April 1847 the Revd. Mr. Moore and his family left Pittville Parade for Brighton.

This is likely to be either the Revd. Calvert Fitzgerald Moore (c1799-1869), sometime Chaplain in Ordinary to George IV, William IV, and Queen Victoria, who stayed at 3 Wolseley Terrace in Cheltenham with his family in 1845, or the Revd. Carter William Moore, MA (St John’s College, Cambridge; 1818-83), and who was in 1846 assaulted at gun-point at Brighton railway station when travelling. The Revd. Moore seemed to take regular tenancies in Cheltenham, while maintaining his regular residence elsewhere.
