Lifestory: William matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford in 1784, aged 17, BA 1787, MA 1790. He was appointed Curate of Stratfield Turgis and Stratfield Saye, Hants, in 1789, and became Vicar of Stanwell, Middlesex in 1792, to which he was presented by the Lord Chancellor. He moved into 11 Clarence Square, Pittville around 1840, married, a clergyman “without cure of souls”. He remained in Pittville until his death in 1853, at the age of eighty-seven. His wife Jane died at their Pittville residence in 1858.
