General information

▶ Born 19 October 1794.
▶ Joined the 11th Regiment of the Light Dragoons [a cavalry regiment] 28 December 1813. ▶ His horse was shot from under him at the Battle of Waterloo 18 June 1815. ▶ On 11 July 1816 he was gazetted Lieutenant. Placed on half pay as Captain 1821.
▶ Married and moved to Pittville Lawn in 1836.
▶ He died at home on 5 March 1878, at the age of 83 and was buried at St Mary’s Church in Cheltenham.
