When Katherine was five, the family moved to Cheltenham and lived at Moultondale (now Kingswood) in Pittville Circus Road. Six months after the death of her father, Katherine had a quiet wedding at St Margaret’s, Westminster, (sometimes called the parish church of the House of Commons), in 1905, officiated by her brother Henry. It is likely they were able to marry here as her husband William Henry Lamb was for many years the Private Secretary of Sir James Tynte Agg-Gardner, who served a total of thirty-nine years as MP for Cheltenham. The young couple initially lived close to her parents at Graefenburg, Eldon Road, Cheltenham before moving to Battledown Approach to a house they named Moulton. In 1907 Katherine and William’s son, Henry James Benoni Lamb was born (Benoni was the name of her mother’s maternal grandfather), followed in 1913, by a daughter Josephine Isabel Lamb. During the Great War, Katherine helped nurse the wounded and rendered valuable aid at the VAD Hospitals in cases requiring massage, going on to formally qualify in Massage therapy with Chartered Society of Massage and Medical Gymnastics in 1920. In 1922, when only forty-four years of age, Katherine she died suddenly of pneumonia, leaving two young children. When her husband Henry died eight years later, their son Henry was in Canada and their daughter Josephine went to live with her widowed Aunt Isabel in Wolstanton, Staffordshire.
