In the national censuses from 1861 to 1881 inclusive she is listed as living at East Hayes, Pittville Circus Road, where from about 1860 her mother had run a girls’ preparatory school. She married Robert Lidderdale MD, of Darjeeling, in Calcutta in 1879; at the time of the 1881 census she was back with her family in Pittville. Her husband stayed on, it seems, to serve in India, after thirty years becoming a Brigadier Surgeon with a passion to entomology. He retired in 1889 and in 1891 the family were together at 78 Kensington Gardens, in London, with their young daughter Lilian. By 1901 the family lived on the Channel Islands, near the southern coast of Guernsey at Mont Durand. Travel records show that she returned to France (and presumably the Channel Islands from Indonesia in 1931. She wrote signed her will at St Peter Port in Guernsey in 1941. ▶Moved to Pittville from: Manchester Moved from Pittville to: Kensington ▶Date of death: (uncertain) Place of death: ▶Date of burial: Place of burial: ▶Notes: Gloucester Chronicle, 5 April 1879 ID: 9958 Contributor(s): John Simpson/Alan Munden
