The marriage of Miss Helen Celeste Clunes, second daughter of our old and much-respected resident, Col. Clunes  of Rosehaugh Villa, Pittville, to the Rev. A. C. Gabell eldest son of R. A. Gabell, Esq., of Keynsham Bank, which took place at All Saints Church, on Thursday, was an event which, from the appearance of the Church on the occasion, seemed to have excited great interest throughout the neighbourhood – a large and fashionable Congregation having assembled therein long before the time fixed for the performance of the ceremony.

The religious service was undertaken by the Rev. J. H. L. Gabell, of Sandford Place, uncle of the bridegroom, and Archdeacon Kempthorne, cousin of the bride, assisted by the Rev. Corbett M. Moore, Vicar of the Parish; Mr. Von. Holst performing an appropriate selection of music before and after the ceremony. When this was concluded the wedding party adjourned to the residence of the bride's father, where an elegant breakfast was provided for their refreshment. Among those who partook thereof were Col. and Mrs. Clunes, Mr. and Mrs. A. Gabell, Rev. G. H. L. and Mrs Gabell, Archdeacon Kempthorne, Rev. Corbett M. Moore, J. Walker Esq., Mr. and Mrs. O’Neal, and other friends of the two families.

Soon after two o’clock the newly married pair took their departure for Eastbourne, amid hearty congratulations of all present.
